True gel cushions constructed of Akton polymer. Will not leak, flow, or bottom out, and is tissue equivalent. Gel moves with the skin, not against it, to reduce pressure and shear, the two leading causes of pressure sores. Unlike liquid gel cushions, the Akton polymer does not migrate, depleting its quality and jeopardizing a person's skin integrity. Provides pressure and shear reduction that requires no pumps, electricity or special training to use. Easy to clean with standard disinfectant. It will not support microbiological growth, and it won't absorb body fluids or odors. Commuter Cushion with Basic Cover offers basic pressure and shear reduction. Combined 1/2 inch Akton polymer and 1 3/4 in. foam are sealed in a waterproof film barrier to guard against incontinence permeation. Total thickness: 2 1/4 in.
